Fairbanks North Star Borough School District Operational Guidelines

The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District has elected to require facemasks for students, staff, and all visitors to any district school, effective Monday, September 13th, 2021. As a result, all rental groups (Interior Youth Basketball) are required to follow the minimum practices as outlined below:

Face Coverings:
All persons over two years of age must wear a face covering when entering a School District facility. EVERYONE must remain masked at all times. PLAYERS AND GAME OFFICIALS ONLY may remove their masks when actively participating ON THE COURT (i.e. while the game clock is running.) Players must re-mask, (or remain masked) while on the bench. Coaches shall remain masked at all times.

Social Distancing:
All attendees are encouraged to practice general social distancing whenever possible.

Limited Access:
Participants may only be present during reserved times and are to promptly exit at the conclusion of their event. All persons are to remain in the reserved area (the gym) and not access neighboring spaces or hallways except to directly enter or exit the facility or use a restroom.

Self-Screening:
If your child has been asked to quarantine due to a close contact at school, he/she may not participate in any IYB activity until they are cleared to go back to school. All persons attending rental activities should practice self-screening before arrival. If any of the following symptoms are detected, the individual should not attend:

· Fever of 100° F +

· Coughing

· Body Aches or Tiredness

· Chills

· Shortness of Breath

· Diarrhea

· Sore Throat

· Headaches

· Loss of Smell or Taste

If you are unsure what to do or look for regarding being a close contact, or a direct contact with a Covid positive person, please review the school districts website for more information. www.k12northstar.org

Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Following these simple guidelines will help to keep your kids on the court.

Let's all do our part to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in our community.

Feel free to call, text, or email if you have any questions or concerns.
